Leckey host the Posture and Mobility Group’s Committee Meeting
31st July 2012
Thursday 5th July saw Leckey host the Posture and Mobility Group’s Committee meeting in Northern Ireland for the first time ever.
The Posture and Mobility Group (PMG) is a UK Charity which aims to advance professional expertise and practice relating to the posture and mobility needs of people with physical disabilities, in particular the equipment and services those needs require. It is an important national organisation, made up largely of therapists and engineers who work in wheelchair services across the UK.
The committee is made up of volunteers, one employed administrator, and is led by Leckey’s Clare Wright who is the Chairperson. Most of the 15-strong committee was able to attend the meeting, and as many had never been to Northern Ireland before, they were very excited.
The meeting was held in Drumalig, our beautiful new boardroom, and the committee members who couldn’t attend in person joined by Skype – it was all very high tech!
They got a flavour of our warm Norn Iron hospitality, and a busy day ended with a guided tour of the factory by James. Everyone was very impressed with the friendliness of Leckey employees, and the superb facilities we have.
Clare said, “It was a fantastic opportunity to show off our factory to so many key wheelchair services people. As well as having a productive meeting, my PMG colleagues really enjoyed the day. Thanks to everyone who supported it in any way, and we hope to have everyone back again next year.”
