James Leckey becomes Honorary Fellow of the College of Occupational Therapists

At their annual conference in Brighton in June, the College of Occupational Therapists awarded an Honorary Fellowship to James Leckey, founder and CEO of James Leckey Design, in recognition of the outstanding contribution he has made to the profession during his career.

The Fellowship and Honorary Fellowship awards are the highest honours that the College can bestow on one of its professional members and on non-occupational therapists.
James is the first industrialist to be nominated for an Honorary Fellowship. He was honoured for his work in designing equipment for children with disabilities, which is used on a worldwide basis, and for enhancing the working practices and education of occupational therapists. He is a committed ambassador for the profession nationally and internationally. In addition, he is an innovator, an advocate for continuing education and research and development and an active supporter of charitable organisations.
