    Leckey is a global market leader in the design and manufacturing of paediatric postural support products.

    Due to continued growth we are urgently seeking experienced Stitchers to joined our established team at our Lisburn site.     We are open to receiving applications for both full time and part time roles with opportunities for flexible working from stitchers of all backgrounds.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Sew a wide variety of upholstery items as per Order Book requirements using single and twin stitching industrial machines.
    • Maintain high standards of tidiness and housekeeping in line with the Company's policies and procedures.
    • Conduct quality checks on all upholstery items produced to the Company standard required and resolve any quality issues and maintain defect rate of below 3 per month.
    • Meet agree production output targets set on a weekly basis ensuring orders are completed by the due date.
    • Any other tasks which may from time to time be requested by the Company.

    ** Prior to commencing the work, all Stitchers will be required to complete a stitch test**

    Essential Criteria:

    • Previous experience stitching in an industrial or large volume setting.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • High degree of accuracy and finish.
    • Good practical skills.
    • Ability to produce products to a high standard quickly and methodically.
    • Ability to follow written instruction.
    • Ability to work within a team.
    • Good timekeeping and attendance.
    • Awareness of health & safety.

  • Design Engineer - Lisburn

    Design Engineer 

    Full time, Permanent

    Reporting to the Design Manager, the successful candidates will champion great design to produce products that meet all performance and functional criteria.

    Main Responsibilities:

    Support the Design Manager to:

    • Generate project timescales and plans to meet deliverables.
    • Ensure design projects are on time and within budget.
    • Support prototyping by providing accurate data to the prototyping resources.
    • Manage product testing.
    • Manage your time to ensure maximum efficiency, highlight areas of concert as early as possible and where additional resources may be are required.
    • Ensure preparedness and attend product/project reviews as required by the Design Manger.
    • Support product/project reviews with the Director of R&D as required.
    • Ensure all products are thoroughly tested and meet Regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure the DHF is correct/complete as regards predesign Freeze tasks/documents.

    Product Design:

    • Take project scopes and Design Inputs, interoperate them with support from the Design Manager and create a design plan.
    • Development products from concept through to Design freeze, both individually, or as a member of a project team using SolidWorks.
    • Work with other Designers, Implementation Engineers, departments, test labs, suppliers and contractors to ensure the successful project completion.
    • Adhere to design procedures and protocols, keeping electronic files and storing them appropriately EPDM vault (not on your local drive).
    • Comply with Health and Safety at Work requirements at all times, ensuring your work area is clean and safe.
    • Communicate project briefs to the design team.
    • To ensure projects are researched thoroughly covering user needs, market requirements and technical requirements.
    • Carry out concept and idea generation against a project scope/Design input document for presentation to the Design Manager/Director of R&D/project team for selection.
    • Progress selected designs to a final design that meets the project requirements.
    • Ensure the generation of all technical outputs for Design Freeze.
    • Work to the DCP, PDP and VaVe process’s.
    • Work to the patent process, paying particular attention to ensuring no new development infringes existing patents of others.
    • At Design Freeze handover the design documentation to the Implementation Engineer.
    • Identify training needs you may have to the Design Manager.

    Technical Support:

    • To provide technical product support to Product Management and Implementation Engineering.
    • As required by the Design Manager, work with local universities to improve product development.
    • Be familiar with all Regulatory requirements (CE, CA, FDA, etc).

    Essential Criteria:

    • At least 5 years experience in a busy Product Design or Engineering Department.
    • Experience of designing and managing products from concept through to full production.
    • A thorough understanding of manufacturing process including plastics and metal fabrication.
    • Strong concepting, visualization and problem solving skills.
    • Highly organized, meticulous planning skills and detail conscious.
    • Have a good working knowledge of 3D CAD modelling, preferably SolidWorks.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products especially Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.

    Desirable criteria:

    • Practical use of FMEA / DFMEA techniques
    • Experience in designing parts for metal forming and fabrication, injection moulding, aluminium extrusion, high pressure die casting
    • Experience in using and maintaining 3D printers
    • Use of and validation of design with FEA techniques

    Remuneration

    • 38 Hrs per week.
    • Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm
