We are delighted to offer a range of FREE, comprehensive and interactive educational courses that focus on innovative approaches which are based on the latest evidence and best practice. Take a look below at the list of courses on offer to help expand learning at any stage of your career. Most of these courses last for 1 hour, however some may be run in conjunction with one another to make up a half-day session. The Development Of Posture & Motor Control and Early Intervention (EI) Strategies To Advance Posture & Motor Control (Pairs with Using the Segmental Assessment of Trunk Control (SATCo) to Develop Targeting Training Therapy) |
This course will help you gain an understanding of the maturation of the nervous system, how this leads to the sequential development of head and trunk control and recognise the impact of cultural norms and 'training' on motor development. Then expand your understanding on the need for early diagnosis and intervention and the importance of task-orientated and child-initiated therapy. Learn more about practical strategies and therapy ideas for El programmes. |

Using the Segmental Assessment of Trunk Control (SATCo) to Develop Targeting Training Therapy |
Review the typical development of trunk control in children and then look at how t differs in children with neuromotor disability. There will be an introduction to the Segmental Assessment of Trunk Control [SATCo) and to Targeted Training therapy. In addition, there will be discussion of the wider use of these concepts, including simple techniques for immediate action to help promote upright postural control and improved function, especially for those children with greater severity of disability. |

Update On CP Hip |
Expand your knowledge of typical hip development and the effect of biomechanical loading on the proximal femur. Explore what happens when loading is abnormal for children with cerebral palsy, and how this information guides conservative treatment using postural care and activity to minimise hip displacement and optimise function. |

Update On CP Muscle |
Gain an understanding of typical skeletal muscle architecture, and review recent research on the development of CP muscle from birth through growth. Explore the effect of conservative interventions to improve range of movement including various methods of passive stretch and strengthening. |
