A member of the clinical team will deliver face-to-face training, presenting the latest research and solid clinical principles, in collaboration with your local product specialist.
From initially meeting the child right through to reviewing the set up of the seating system, the fundamentals of seating is designed to take clinicians through the entire seating assessment pathway. Beginning with the fundamentals of posture and multidisciplinary goal setting we then move onto plinth assessment and range of motion practical's. Following this, we move onto set up strategies for children with a range of complex positioning needs, led by latest clinical literature and assessment/outcome measure guidelines. We finalise the day working as a team through a variety of case studies and have the opportunity to get hands on with product. This day long learning session is designed to instil confidence in therapists getting hands on with both children and seating equipment.

Neuro-disability and potty training might not seem like natural companions, given the numerous challenges involved. This seminar aims to bridge that gap by introducing an innovative approach to toilet training children with complex disabilities. Unlike traditional methods, this approach is based on neurological research that learning isn't an instant revelation but rather a process rooted in neuroplasticity. Drawing inspiration from holistic therapy techniques, it focuses on building the foundational neurological skills essential for success. Through real-life case studies, attendees will gain a step-by-step understanding of how to tackle training and reap its many benefits.
This training will take place over 2 hours max.

Expand your understanding of typical standing development, the physical and psychosocial benefits of supportive standing, and the challenges in standing therapy and assessment. Address common questions during standing frame assessments and explore solutions to overcome these challenges. Learn about typical hip development, the effects of biomechanical loading on the femur, and how abnormal loading in children with cerebral palsy guides conservative treatments to minimize hip displacement and optimise function.
This session will take place over a half day (9am - 1pm)

Target audience: Clinicians (Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists) and therapy assistants who work with standing frames.
Review typical trunk control development in children and its differences in those with neuromotor disabilities. The session will introduce the Segmental Assessment of Trunk Control (SATCo) and Targeted Training (TT) therapy, along with practical techniques to enhance upright postural control and function, particularly for children with more severe disabilities.
This session will take place over a half day (9am - 1pm)
Objectives for session:
Target audience: Clinicians (Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists) and therapy assistants who work with children with reduced trunk control.
Gain an understanding of the physical and psychosocial benefits of active mobility for children with additional needs, while exploring common challenges and solutions in walking frame prescription. Review skeletal muscle architecture, recent research on muscle development in children with cerebral palsy, and active interventions, such as pedalling, aimed at improving range of motion through stretching and strengthening.
